PEACE HAS RETURNED TO ISLAND

The reports of the death of the 'Tiger and its 'cub' is good news for all peace loving people.Peace has returned to the Island, almost after three decades. The Lankan government, now, has more responsibility and challenging work in rehabilitating the dis-placed tamilians. It has to create an atomsphere of trust and win their confidence. They should do this with all the earnestness it deserves.

The lankan government should not hesitate to take the assistance from countries including India and the UNO to re-build the shattred JAFNA and other Tamil dominated regions. The moderate Tamil leaders should join the main stream politics and fight for the welfare of the people of Sri lanka including the Tamil population for long lasting peace in the Island.

The greater responsibility is with the Lankan government to handle the situation carefully keeping in mind the sufferings the civilian Tamils have under gone in the last six months. Any ill-treatment and treating them as second class citizens will give scope for further rebellion and many more Prabhakarans will emerge from the shadow and disturb the Islands's peace and its economy. The ball is in Sri Lankan court now.

Pakistan government must take a cue from Sri Lankan couterpart and do the same thing to Taliban.
