The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce move to change the movie timings is based on the misguided conception. The move is aimed at retaining the peoples’ interest in films. People are attracted to movies not because the movie timings suit their timings, but because of the quality of the movies. If the movies are not good and even if the tickets are offered free, people will not throng the theatres, because it is waste of their precious time. The Chamber should encourage producers on producing good quality movies and people will visit the theatres in large numbers irrespective of movie timings. Change in timings will also create law and order problems as rightly pointed out by the City police commissioner.
