WEAK CENTRAL LEADERSHIP

The dissidence problem in Karnataka is almost two weeks old and the central leadership of BJP has failed to resolve the issues raised by warring Reddy brothers amicably. The party with a difference, the displened, the principled, the cadre based and the value-based party’s central leadership finding it very difficult to deal with all-powerful mining lords. Undoubtedly, Reddy brothers played a pivotal role in BJP coming to power in Karnataka during the elections and after the election, in seducing the independent MLAs to extend support to the party, to have simple majority in the assembly. Now they are trying to extract their pound of flesh. This is bound to happen when values are thrown out for the sake of power. The central leadership should discipline them either by dropping from the ministry or expel them for anti-party activities for some years. Party is more important than individuals are. In the worst scenario, this may cost them the power. It does not matter. Elections come and go, parties come to power and go but the values and ideology in which the party believes should not be allowed to go. It is perplexing why the BJP is hesitating to take action against the dissidents.
