EDUCATION AS BUSINESS VENTURES,NOT GOOD

The news of two medical colleges of our state applying for deemed university status is not good news for students who intend to purse medical studies. Education hasbecome a very lucrative business right from pre-nursery to professional courses. The deemed university status deprives the students a certain number of seats in merit quota for deserving students of economically back ward and middle class families. We are a country in which more than 90% of the population is either poor or middle class who can't afford astronomical amount of fees and donation to purse the professionalcourses. Most of the colleges are run by powerful people with the only aim of making money for themselves. The government should enact laws in such a way that more and more deserving students from the economically backward category gets quality education instead of creating an atmosphere for greedy business people who are in the education field to amass wealth.
